Fun Time Family Relief Fund
As we have called our families to discuss lesson plans, we have learned that many of our parents have been laid off from their jobs. Many do not have the funds to buy groceries.
The Fun Time Academy Board of Directors has established the Fun Time Family Relief Fund. With the money we raise, we will buy gift cards for each Fun Time Academy family in order to lessen the financial impact on the children and families we serve.
A MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Though Fun Time Academy is closed for classes, we are open for learning. Our teachers are emailing lesson plans to our parents so they can teach their children at home. They are staying in touch with their students by video–singing songs and reading stories. They are doing 30 hours of in-service training.
As we have called our families to discuss lesson plans, we have learned how many of our parents have been laid off from their jobs. Many do not have the funds to buy groceries.
Our Board has therefore established the Fun Time Family Relief Fund. With the money we raise, we will buy gift cards for each Fun Time Academy family in order to lessen the financial impact on the children and families we serve.
We are all facing a difficult and uncertain time. Please stay safe and thank you for your ongoing support to our families.
Fun Time will be closed from Friday, July 3, and returning on Monday, July 13 for annual maintenance work.
Congratulations to all our VPK graduates! They are heading to Kindergarten ready to learn and ready to read! Below are some sweet videos the teachers made to congratulate them since we couldn’t have a traditional ceremony this year.
To provide safe, quality, affordable education and care for children and parents from low-income working families and to prepare the children for kindergarten, ready to read and ready to learn!
HELPING OUR KIDS
The 96 students enrolled at Fun Time come from low-income working families. Your donation helps to bridge the gap between the parent’s sliding-scale payment and the unfunded $8,200 cost this year of educating and caring for each student:
- $100 provides materials for one classroom for one month
- $250 provides 16 hours of tutoring to one child
- $700 provides tuition assistance for one child for one month
- $1,400 provides tuition assistance for two children for one month
Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), classes at Fun Time Early Childhood Academy have been suspended. The Collier County Public Schools have also suspended operations. We will continue to monitor the situation and make future decisions about school closure based upon the recommendations of the State of Florida and the Centers for Disease Control.
