Fun Time Early Childhood Academy Executive Director Barbara Tyrrell is pleased to announce that Leslie Turner has joined the staff as the newly created Director of Child & Family Resources.

“Over the years, 2,240 students from low-income working families have graduated from Fun Time Academy with the language, math and social/interpersonal skills needed to succeed in school,” explains Executive Director Barbara Tyrrell. “In this new position, Leslie will help us provide each of our students the highest quality, research-based, creative curriculum and care available in Southwest Florida while supporting their families in expanding developmental growth and learning in the home.”

As Director of Child & Family Resources, Turner will be responsible for the day-to-day planning and expansion of Fun Time Academy’s parent education program (PATCH), identifying resources for the school’s children and their families, as well as providing programmatic support to the Executive Director. Additionally, she will supervise the education staff as needed.

A graduate of North Carolina’s Pfeiffer University, she holds a BA in Human Services/Child Development and brings a wealth of experience in education, administration and family services to the position.
