Our two-year-old classroom is designed to support the growing independence, curiosity, and developmental leaps that happen during this important stage. At Fun Time Early Childhood Academy, we use The Creative Curriculum® for Infants, Toddlers & Twos to create a rich, responsive environment where toddlers can explore, learn, and thrive.  Two-year-olds thrive on consistency and hands-on learning. Our curriculum integrates intentional activities into daily routines like mealtimes, transitions, and outdoor play. Teachers nurture each child’s independence and natural curiosity while promoting positive social interactions and supporting emotional development in a caring, inclusive environment. 

Curriculum Focus Areas:  

• Social–Emotional: Building independence, managing emotions, and learning to play cooperatively with peers 

• Physical: Refining gross motor skills like running and climbing, and fine motor skills like drawing, feeding, and manipulating small objects 

• Language: Expanding vocabulary, naming objects, using short phrases, and beginning to follow simple directions 

• Cognitive: Exploring problem-solving, understanding cause and effect, and engaging in pretend play and simple matching or sorting activities 

We conduct formal checkpoint assessments three times per year (fall, winter, spring) using Teaching Strategies GOLD®. Recognizing that each child develops at their own pace, our teachers provide personalized guidance and support. Our goal is to nurture confident, capable learners who feel safe, supported, and excited to grow.  

These checkpoints help us: 

• Monitor each child’s developmental milestones 

• Individualize instruction and caregiving 

• Communicate progress with families through regular conferences 

• Determine individual interventions and/or remediation strategies if needed
